Genre/ atmosphere.

The way the producer is presenting this movie seriously, sets the mood for the audience into fear and suspense. By showing gloomy pictures of experiments being made on humans and crowds of people swarming around in panic. Also the commentating being made shows that the narrator is determined to fight back.The pictures that are shown are all dark coloured- mostly black and white- and are viewed quickly, telling us that the movie is intense. The way the producers put the music, images, spectators among other things, together, sets the audience into fear but also leaving them curious to what will happen next.

Reason for selections.

The opening of 'Push', begins by entering a hall where a maid is seen vacuuming, an older man that is in his mid-thirties, who is holding a little boys hand is seen soon after rushing down the hall and into there room, but before they enter the room the man gets a glance at the maids watch. The man and boy are father and son and seem to be hiding from someone.The man bends down telling the boy something that will happen to him in the future. The boy then gets 'pushed' in the hall before people come in and kill his father, the leader then enters and an exploding noise are heard and people are then flying out of the room, including the maid who appeared to be part of the group of people hunting them down.

After the beginning, images of people being experimented on are showed and a girl is telling the audience about her life and how she was also being hunted down by the same people that killed the little boys father. She says countries are hunting them down because they want to use there powers for there advantage. In the opening the boy was 'pushed' into the hall- the man also had powers which where called 'pushers'- people who could push any item away. The photos that are shown are black and white and are of people getting needles put in them and are being experimented on, there is also news reporters being heard. This then begins the movie where they are in a lab.

This fits in to the film as a whole because it shows you how the people with powers got to the stage where they started to hunt and hide from those people who wanted to harm them. This appealed to me because it was interesting and I found it capturing the way the mood was set for the audience.
